IUPUI Softball Complex
The IUPUI Softball Complex, located on campus, is host to all home softball games. Built in preparation for the 1987 Pan American Games, the complex includes three adjacent fields, highlighted by Field 2 at the main entrance of the complex.

With a grass playing surface and a temporary boundary inside the main fence, Field 2 has hosted IUPUI's Fall Tournament five of the past six years. The concrete dugouts along both baselines give were constructed below the playing surface, giving a unique perspective to the action. Most recently, a new wireless nine inning scoreboard was installed beyond the centerfield fence. Plans are in place to build a press box behind home plate in the coming years.

There is permanent seating to accomodate approximately 500 while the facility can easily allow for well over 2,000 with temporary seating and standing room around the complex. Located adjacent to Michael A. Carroll Stadium, the IUPUI Softball Complex has hosted numerous prominent events during its 20+ years of existence.

Alex Young
Men's Basketball
IUPUI senior basketball standout Alex Young has been chosen the Sahm's Male Athlete of the Month for the month of January. The Indianapolis-native averaged a team-high 22.1 points and 5.1 boards per game, while also collecting 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals in the Jaguars' eight games.

Young scored in double-digits in all eight games, including six games of 20 points or better. He notched back-to-back 27-point outings against Oral Roberts (Jan. 14) and at South Dakota (Jan. 19) for his high water marks during the month. Against Southern Utah on Jan. 12, Young became the 3rd player in IUPUI history to eclipse the 2,000 point mark with a free throw late in the first half.

The 6-foot-6 lefty has since climbed to No. 7 on The Summit League's all-time scoring list and remains the top active scorer in all of Division I men's basketball. For the year, Young is averaging a team-high 20.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while hitting 41 percent from the field. He also leads the team with 34 steals and 26 blocked shots and ranks among The Summit League leaders by having hit 81.9 percent from the free throw line.

Women's Swimming
IUPUI freshman swimmer Margaret Barber has been chosen the Sahm's Female Student-Athlete of the Month for January. Barber helped the women's swimming and diving team to a 4-1 record in January moving the team's record to 7-1 on the season. The seven dual wins are the most in a single-season in program history.

Barber opened the month shattering the school record in the 1,000 freestyle in a quad meet with Xavier, Saint Louis, and Western Illinois with a winning time of 10:30.82. That time bested the previous school-record time of 10:46.14 set by Sara Smith on Nov. 10, 2006. Later that meet, she posted the fifth-fastest 500 freestyle time with a mark of 5:11.88 en route to a second-place finish.

After posting another win a day later in the 200 freestyle in a dual meet with Eastern Illinois, Barber captured wins in the 200 free and 500 free on Jan. 28 at Oakland. Her 200 freestyle time of 1:54.94 was a PR and equaled the second-fastest swim in the IUPUI record books, while her 500 free time was the seventh-fastest time in program history.
