Mike Moore
On behalf of IUPUI Department of Athletics and all of our student-athletes, thank you for your continued support of the Jaguars Athletics Club. It is because of your loyalty and dedication that we are able to develop and maintain a proud tradition of Division One NCAA athletics. Each year we strive to advance that tradition by excelling on the playing field, in the classroom, and in the community.

We have seen many positive changes to the landscape of IUPUI athletics. Our athletic facilities continue to improve - this season new chair back seats were installed in the gymnasium for volleyball and basketball events. On the playing field, we hosted the Summit League’s men’s soccer championships in November and the men’s basketball team was selected as the pre-season conference favorite by several publications. Most importantly, 100 student-athletes represented IUPUI last year with Academic All-Conference honors.

As we prepare for upcoming opportunities, please know that we can only take advantage of those moments with your continued and increased support. The most important element to a successful athletics program is scholarship funding and we must raise those dollars to support over 200 Jaguar student-athletes each year.  To continue to compete for Summit League Championships and NCAA tournament play, we must significantly increase our annual giving to the Jaguars Athletics Club.

I encourage you to learn more about why private support is so important for our program by reading about the Jaguars Athletics Club on our website. You may download a renewal form or call our Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs, John Rasmussen, at (317) 274-5453 for more information.

Again, thank you for your continued support of IUPUI and Jaguars Athletics.

Gratefully,

Michael R. Moore

Robert Glenn
Men's Basketball
Senior men's basketball player Robert Glenn has been picked the IUPUI Male Student-Athlete of the Month for January 2010. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged a team-high 19.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while helping the Jaguars to a 6-3 record in the month. IUPUI was 6-2 against Summit League foes during the month.

Glenn made 61 percent of his field goal attempts in the nine games and also averaged 2.2 blocks and 1.4 steals per contest. His top scoring output of the month came against Oakland on Jan. 28 when he poured in 26 points in the 78-54 win over the previously undefeated Golden Grizzlies in the Jungle. Glenn tallied 25 points against Oral Roberts on Jan. 14 at Conseco Fieldhouse in IUPUI's overtime win.

Glenn closed the month with his second double-double of the year with 15 points and a career-best 14 rebounds against IPFW, later earning Summit League Player of the Week honors. He also had a career-high five blocked shots in the win over Western Illinois on Jan. 9. He reached double-figures in eight of IUPUI's nine games and topped 20 points or better five different times.

Glenn currently leads The Summit in scoring and is second in field goal percentage for the second-place Jaguars. His 11 games scoring 20 or more is tied for The Summit League lead.

The IUPUI Department of Athletics has announced that freshman women's tennis player Hunter Bullock has been chosen as the department's Student-Athlete of the Month for January.  The Terre Haute South H.S.-product went 3-0 in singles play in her first three matches of the 2010 season.

For her efforts, Bullock was named the conference’s Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week on Feb. 2.

Bullock went 3-0 in singles play last week, picking up three of IUPUI’s four points over the weekend. The freshman was 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 1-0 at No. 2.

The Terre Haute South H.S.-product opened the weekend with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win over Butler’s Molly Casperson on Saturday morning at No. 2 singles.
