ORLANDO, Fla. -- Competing for the Mizuno Sports Performance 18 White club volleyball team, incoming IUPUI volleyball players Lindsay Weber and Nicole Ramey helped lead their squad to the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) 18 & under club championship, played at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex last weekend.
Weber, who earned All-State Special Mention honors in her senior season after a stellar career at Rosary High School, was named to the All-Star Team for the tournament. Weber's efforts helped the Mizuno Sports Performance 18 White squad go undefeated during the tournament, and the team did not drop a set in tournament play.
During her high school career, Weber picked up first team all-Suburban Catholic Conference honors to go along with her All-Area Girls Volleyball Team selection by The Daily Herald.
Ramey helped lead Naperville Central to the Illinois High School Association Class 4A State Title in 2007, while earning Honorable Mention honors in the DuPage Valley Conference her senior season along with an all-area honorable mention award.
The middle hitter was also named an Illinois State Scholar for her work in the classroom. The 5-foot-10 Ramey was inducted into the National Honor Society and served as a freshman mentor and adapted P.E. leader at Naperville Central.
The duo will lead their Mizuno Sports Performance Team in the Junior Volleyball Directors Association (JVDA) Championships in Louisville, Ky., June 26-28.
