TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The IUPUI men's cross country team got a first-hand look at a big time meet as Head Coach Chuck Koeppen's squad took part in the ISU Pre-Nationals Meet at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course on a chilly Saturday afternoon. Nearly half of the nation's top 30 teams took part in the blue race as the Jaguars finishing 34th overall.

Oregon won the meet with a score of 79 while Alabama finished second at 114.

Junior Aaron Kremer covered the 8K course in a time of 26:10.4 while rookie J.D. Smith finished at 26:18.5. Kremer placed 191st overall and Smith was 199th.

Junior Joe Hoffman was IUPUI's No. 3 runner in a time of 26:25.8 and sophomore Ricky Warren came in in a time of 26:28.6. The team's lone senior, Evan Fruits, rounded out the scoring five in a time of 26:46.2.

Oregon's Luke Puskedra won the race in a time of 23:40.2. Saturday's race marked the second straight outing the Jaguars were without Chase Kaufman, who ran among IUPUI's top two in the first three events of the year.

Saturday's event was also the team's final tune-up before The Summit League Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31 in Cedar City, Utah.
