ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Summit League has announced that IUPUI freshman volleyball player Kalyse Reimbold has been named The Summit League Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.

Reimbold earns the Offensive Player of the Week award for the first time in her career after helping the Jaguars go 2-1 last week in moving into fourth place in The Summit League.

In two of IUPUI’s three matches, Reimbold led the Jaguars in kills and recorded double-doubles in the last two matches of the week.  For the week, the Carmel, Ind.-native had a team-high 52 kills and contributed 27 digs to IUPUI’s defense.

At Valparaiso, Reimbold led the Jags with 12 kills in the three-set defeat.  Playing Western Illinois on Oct. 24, the Carmel High School-product totaled 27 kills, setting a new career-high and tying the highest four-set total in The Summit League this season.  Reimbold posted her third career double-double in the four-set victory with 11 digs as well.

The freshman posted her second straight double-double at Centenary, coming away with 13 kills and a career-best 13 digs in the five-set win.

Through Oct. 26, Reimbold is second in The Summit in kills, averaging 3.51 kills per set.  Her 4.41 kills per set in conference play is also second.

The two conference wins put the Jaguars one game ahead of South Dakota State in the race for the final spot in The Summit League Tournament.

The IUPUI volleyball team will look to build on their lead when they host South Dakota State on Friday, Oct. 31.  The match will begin at 7 p.m. from The Jungle.
