INDIANAPOLIS - IUPUI Head Men’s Soccer Coach Steve Franklin announced the team’s 2009 postseason award winners at Sunday’s team banquet at the University Place Hotel and Conference Center. Sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Keever was voted Team MVP by his teammates and freshman Ian Munro was picked Most Improved.

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Summit League announced its Fall Academic All-League recipients on Wednesday as 61 IUPUI student-athletes were awarded. IUPUI trailed only Western Illinois (63) and Oakland (62) for the most recipients from the sports of men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.

INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced that 139 student-athletes posted a 3.0 grade point average or better for the recently completed fall semester, earning Academic Advisor’s List honors. The total is the top recorded fall semester total in the program’s history and 34 better than last fall’s total of 105.

CARY, NC - IUPUI men's soccer standout Eric Weigman was recently named to the Lowe's Senior CLASS All-America Second Team. The award, chosen by a nationwide vote of Division I men’s coaches, national soccer media and fans, is awarded annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in NCAA Division I men’s soccer.
ELMHURST, Ill. - With the fall season of the 2009-10 academic year in the books, IUPUI has taken the early lead in the race for The Summit League Commissioner’s Cup with 35.5 points, while Oakland is second with 33.5 points. In the race for the Dr. William Steinbrecher Men’s All Sports Award, Oakland holds the top spot, while in the Dr. Helen Smiley Women’s All Sports Award, North Dakota State is in first place.
ROCHESTER, Mich. - IUPUI men’s soccer sophomores Tyler Keever and Yogi Snider were recently chosen to the 11-man 2009 Summit League All-Tournament Team. The awards were announced after the four-team tournament ended on Sunday.
ROCHESTER, Mich. - The IUPUI men's soccer team missed more than its share of opportunities as the Jaguars' season came to a close with a 1-0 loss to second-seeded Western Illinois in The Summit League Tournament semifinals on Friday afternoon. The loss snapped IUPUI's four-game winning streak and ended the 2009 campaign with a 5-11-3 record.
